A hotel with 3 traditional “kayabuki” (straw) roofed buildings overlapping each other following the topography of the site and facing different directions. Each building is scaled and rotated to house its program (restaurant, hot spring, and hotel) offering various views and ambiances for its guests. The building backs on to a bamboo forest, while outdoor spaces surrounding the site include a large wooden terrace, outdoor hot springs, and Japanese gardens.
