Casa-Kura

A 120-year-old Japanese Kura (Store-house) renovated hand in hand with local craftsmen. The new window allows more natural light into the kura which is traditionally dark and not-ventilated, while also framing views of Mt Kosho. The existing ceiling height and large beams were left in place to maintain the building’s history and create a sense of openness, while the oversized curtain gives intimacy to the bedroom.
